CROSSVILLE POLICE INVESTIGATE “PESKY” THEFTS
Crossville Police were bothered by pesky thefts of small ticket items this past week. Officers were called to a Lawson Drive home Wednesday for the report of a trash can being stolen. The resident told police that he had set it out at the end of his driveway and that someone took it. The trash can was valued at $40. That same day, thieves stole a pair of black loading ramps which had been on a trailer sitting in the old Ryan’s Restaurant parking lot. Value of the ramps was $250. A video surveillance camera captured the incident and the investigation is continuing. Finally, Thursday officers responded to Walmart for the theft of a cell phone. An employee reported that her phone had been stolen from a counter while she was helping a customer. A video revealed a female, identified as 39-year-old Kelly Sanders pick up the phone and leave the store. Officers went to an abandoned home where Sanders had been living and found the suspect with the phone, which had been valued at $500. Sanders was charged with theft and banned from Walmart property.
