CROSSVILLE POLICE OFFICER’S CRUISER NEARLY STRUCK BY ONCOMING VEHICLE

A Crossville Police Officer was nearly involved in a head-on collision recently. While patrolling on East First St, the officer observed the driver of an Oldsmobile sedan approaching in his lane. The vehicle swerved back into the oncoming lane barely missing the police cruiser. A pursuit began on Highway 70 East towards Main St. with the driver of the Oldsmobile barely missing several cars. The driver circled back onto E. First St. headed toward Peavine, and finally pulled into the parking lot of the Ivy Ave. Apartments. 34-year-old Joshua Walter Stone was driving on a revoked license and also had an outstanding warrant. He was also charged with felony evading arrest.
