CROSSVILLE POLICE PROMOTING “SLOW DOWN TENNESSEE” TO REDUCE SPEEDING-RELATED CRASHES

The Crossville Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to promote “Slow Down Tennessee.” During April 16 – 30, 2021, law enforcement across the state will increase education, awareness, and enforcement efforts to help reduce speeding-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities statewide.

In 2020, there were far too many crashes in Crossville involving speeding.

“We hope to reduce the number of speeding-related crashes by saturating the streets with patrols. We care about our community and want to help keep folks safe,” said Crossville Police Chief Jessie Brooks

The Crossville Police Department will be increasing speed-targeted patrol activities from April 16 – 30, 2021 via saturation patrols, in an effort to reduce the number of speeding-related crashes.

The State of Tennessee requires motorists to always exercise due care and maintain a safe speed while driving. Speed limits may vary depending on the county and road conditions. Drivers must always pay attention and adhere to posted speed limits to ensure the safety of all roadway users.
