CROSSVILLE POLICE RECOGNIZE DISPATCHERS WITH AWARDS

The City of Crossville Police Department proudly recognized several Crossville-Cumberland County Central Communications dispatchers at a recent presentation ceremony. Awards were presented to recognize agency partners who surpass what is required in their job descriptions, as well as going the extra mile to help protect the citizens of our community.

On Saturday, February 3, a robbery alarm came into the Central Communications Center from the Upper Cumberland Federal Credit Union. Dispatch supervisors Brandon Patton and Patricia Seagraves and dispatchers Amanda Pugh, Chris Cox and Georgie Heller were on duty. Because of the quick actions of all dispatch personnel and law-enforcement officers, the getaway vehicle and suspect were identified and tracked to a location in Nashville where the suspect was taken into custody and the stolen cash recovered. This was accomplished within one hour, fifty nine minutes of the time of occurrence.

Officials say Patton showed great leadership in this matter and Seagraves provided additional information to FBI special agents, which possibly linked the suspect in this robbery to other similar robberies.

Additionally, officials say dispatchers Pugh, Cox and Heller used their talents, skills and experience to provide immediate and accurate information that led to the capture of the suspect and recovery of stolen money.
