CROSSVILLE POLICE RELEASE ACCIDENT REPORT OF FATAL CRASH ON PEAVINE ROAD, TWO OTHERS IN SERIOUS CONDITION
The report of a fatal vehicle accident that took place yesterday afternoon (Monday, June 5, 2017) in Crossville was released early this afternoon by law enforcement. According to the accident report from the Crossville Police Department, a 2008 Toyota Tundra driven by 68-year-old Gary Storer of Fairfield Glade was traveling north on Peavine Road 1500 feet past the intersection of Peavine Road and Old Peavine Road. That is when officers say an oncoming 2008 Mitsubishi driven by 18-year-old Dade P. Brown lost control on the wet road from rain, slid sideways crossing the middle divider lines and into the path of Storer. Storer struck the passenger side of Brown’s vehicle in a violent impact. Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene. Storer and a passenger in his vehicle, 68-year-old Barbara Storer, were both taken to Cumberland Medical Center then transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained. As of this afternoon at 3 pm central time (Tuesday, June 6, 2017) both Gary and Barbara Storer were listed in serious condition according to UT Medical Center. Peavine Road at the accident scene was closed for over four hours late yesterday afternoon as officers investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
