CROSSVILLE REC CENTER CONSTRUCTION BEGINS TODAY
Today, the City of Crossville held a groundbreaking ceremony to usher in the start of construction on the upcoming Crossville YMCA Rec Center.
The Rec Center is expected to finish construction within 18 months and is a collaborative effort between the city and the Cookeville YMCA.
At the ceremony, Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford took some time to thank several public officials, project partners, as well as Mandy Perhay of the Cookeville YMCA.
At the ceremony, One Bank Board Chairman Elizabeth Ray Fournet was bequeathed a key to the city for One Bank’s contributions.
“There’s a lot of people that use the word ‘community’, especially banks,” Crawford said. “We’ve got a community bank here in this town that is stepping up. And I think it’s important that we recognize them. They took on the first $5 million of our debt service. That’s a big deal, they didn’t have to do that. That’s them stepping in and saying ‘We believe in this community, and we believe in our relationship with the city’.”
