CROSSVILLE TACO BELL EMPLOYEE FOILS SUSPECTED SCAMMERS
An employee of a Crossville Taco Bell foiled a suspected scam attempt. The woman received a phone call from an unknown male subject saying that he worked for the business’s corporate headquarters. The caller, known as Brantly Jacobs, told her that an investigation was being conducted on the passing of counterfeit money at the store in the amount of $1407. The man reportedly told her to not tell other management about the investigation and for her to put $1407 on a pre-paid Green Dot card and give him the number. The employee was skeptical and told the man to call her on her cell phone. The caller returned the call from a restricted number and the employee talked to another man calling himself Michael Watts who claimed to be a federal marshal. The woman hung up on the men and contacted her management. No further information was provided.
