At a special called meeting today, the Crossville City Council approved sending a document declaring intent for a land acquisition project. The letter will reserve a spot to apply to next year’s Local Parks and Recreation Fund Grant. If the city receives the money, the construction of a new recreational facility, new baseball fields at Centennial Park or a bike trail at Meadow Park Lake will be considered. The grant provides funds up to a half million dollars for the purchase of land for parks, natural areas, green ways and recreation facilities.
