CROSSVILLE TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF DRIVER WITH 11.6 GRAMS OF METH
On November 18, 2025, Officer Jessie Henson conducted a traffic stop on a white Nissan Altima for a window tint violation. During the stop, the officer observed suspicious movements by the front-seat passenger and noticed a piece of burnt aluminum foil on the passenger-side floorboard, which the passenger picked up and then discarded.
The driver, Bobby D. Goddard, admitted to driving without a valid license, and dispatch confirmed his license was suspended. After obtaining Goddard’s consent to search the vehicle, officers located a black magnetic box containing a large amount of cash on the driverβs side and a small foil packet containing a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine on the passenger side. The rear passenger consented to a personal search, during which officers found one used syringe and two unused syringes in his socks.
When questioned, Goddard voluntarily admitted to having more illegal items and retrieved a plastic baggie from his pants containing approximately 11.60 grams of a crystalline substance also believed to be methamphetamine.
Goddard was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Due to the quantity of suspected narcotics, the large amount of cash, and the common use of cell phones in drug trafficking, Officer Henson obtained and served a search warrant for Goddard’s cell phone.
The 11.60-gram baggie was sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for testing, while the smaller foil packet and phone were placed into evidence at the Crossville Police Department.
