CROSSVILLE WOMAN AIRLIFTED TO TRAUMA CENTER AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE

A Crossville woman suffered injuries after crashing her pickup truck during a high-speed pursuit last night in Putnam County. Troopers say it started on I-40 when officers noticed the vehicle driven by 33-year-old Allie Shea Brook Leffew failing to maintain her lane of travel. Leffew got off on exit 286 and traveled south on Burgess Falls Road. The chase ended on Austin Bottom Road when Leffew crashed the truck. An air medical helicopter took her to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. She was charged with evading arrest, reckless driving, DUI, and improper passing.
