A Crossville woman escaped injury in a single vehicle accident in Putnam County early this afternoon. Troopers say a 2015 Honda Civic driven by 89-year-old Ruth Copeland Newman was traveling west on I-40 at the 299 mile marker when a vehicle cut in front of her. Newman took evasive action to prevent a collision. She lost control and her vehicle came to rest straddled on the cable barrier.
