CROSSVILLE WOMAN FACES MULTIPLE DRUG AND TRAFFIC CHARGES FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOPS
A local woman is scheduled to appear in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court on Thursday, July 2, 2026, to face a litany of charges stemming from two separate traffic stops involving alleged drug possession and driving infractions.
Andrea Lynne Allred, of Crossville, faces multiple counts including simple possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II drugs, tampering with evidence, and driving on a suspended license.
According to court affidavits, Allred’s legal troubles began late last year on December 27, 2025. Deputy Caleb Cathey of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop on a 1990 white Ford Ranger at Main Street in Crab Orchard after noticing the vehicle lacked functional brake lights.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputy Cathey reportedly observed a strip of burnt tinfoil in plain view. After dispatch confirmed that Allred was driving on a suspended license, she was placed under arrest. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded additional burnt tinfoil and a white powdery substance, believed to be fentanyl, wrapped inside the foil.
A few months later, on the night of April 3, 2026, Allred was stopped again. Deputy Caleb Charles observed a blue Saturn hatchback braking erratically and crossing the center line multiple times on Chestnut Hill Road.
After being ordered out of the vehicle for not having a valid driver’s license, Allred was subjected to a Terry frisk. According to the complaint, Allred attempted to conceal a round plastic container holding approximately 4.08 grams of a white crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine.
The affidavit further states that while being instructed to face the vehicle, Allred attempted to drop a small plastic baggie containing roughly 0.15 grams of a white powdery substance—believed to be fentanyl—near the rear tire of the car.
Allred is currently being represented by the Public Defender’s office. Her docket for July 2 includes five total criminal counts spanning the two separate arrests:
-
Two counts of Simple Possession/Casual Exchange
-
One count of Possession of Methamphetamine
-
One count of Tampering with Evidence
-
One count of Driving While License Suspended
Allred remains under the jurisdiction of the Cumberland County General Sessions Court as the state proceeds with its case.
