CUMBERLAND AND ROANE COUNTY UNEMPLOYMENT RATES DROP
Nearly every county in Tennessee ended 2023 with lower unemployment, according to new data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Cumberland County’s December jobless rate was 4.2 percent, down from the November rate of 4.5 percent.
Roane County is 3.4 percent, down from 3.7 percent.
White County’s December unemployment rate was 3.3 percent, dropping from 3.5 percent in November.
Bledsoe County had the highest rate of unemployment in December at 4.8 percent.
Nationally, the jobless number also remained unchanged in December at 3.7 percent, 0.2 of a percentage point higher than Tennessee’s rate for the month.
