CUMBERLAND CO. AMBULANCE INVOLVED IN VEHICLE COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 70

An accident in eastern White County today between a Cumberland County ambulance and another vehicle resulted in four injuries. Troopers say a 2008 Honda Civic driven by 19-year-old William Millican of Cookeville was attempting to stop at the intersection of Flat Rock Road and Highway 70 when he slid onto the highway and struck a 2016 Cumberland County EMS ambulance operated by 46-year-old James Beaty of Jamestown. Mullican was taken to Highland Medical Center in Sparta for treatment of injuries and charged with failure to yield. Beaty and a passenger, 41-year-old Darrell Rector of Crossville, were both taken to Cumberland Medical Center to be seen for possible injuries. A patient in the ambulance at the time of the crash, 80-year-old James Gentry of Crossville, was also seen at CMC for possible injuries. (Picture in headline courtesy of DeLynn Spurlin Newberry)
