The Cumberland County School System will no longer be sending out “Snowbird” notifications by text. This was a service by phone to inform parents of school being out for winter weather conditions. Instead, announcements of school closings from adverse weather will be made on the radio and the Cumberland County School System’s Facebook page. Family members of students will still receive the voicemail / phone call from the school system Student Information Services. 1057 News will provide school closing announcements as soon as we get them for not only Cumberland County but all counties in the listening area, especially in the winter. Be sure to either tune into 105.7 The Hog or add 1057 News on Facebook for up to the minute school closings.
