CUMBERLAND CO. SCHOOL SYSTEM GETS RESULTS OF AIR QUALITY TESTS AT HOMESTEAD ELEMENTARY

The Cumberland County School System received the results today of school-wide air quality tests at Homestead Elementary. Further mold remediation has only been recommended for Room 105 because of a trace level of black mold spores found in that room. The school system feels any amount of black mold should be eliminated from the classrooms and will therefore have classroom 105 cleaned and sanitized by a professional mold remediation company immediately. The class will meet in an alternate location until retesting shows the issue has been mitigated. Room 304, which had previously tested positive with a low level of black mold spores, has already been treated and successfully retested with no black mold findings.

The Homestead principal has notified faculty and staff. Parents will be notified by letter this afternoon (Tuesday, February 18, 2020).
