DEPUTIES: CROSSVILLE WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER HER VEHICLE NEARLY COLLIDES WITH ONCOMING CAR

Cumberland County deputies reportedly observed a black GMC pickup traveling east on Highway 70 East in Ozone Sunday all over the roadway. Officers attempted to pull over the driver, 45-year-old Linda Ann Howard of Crossville, on the 16,000 block of Highway 70 East but Howard continued nearly striking an oncoming vehicle and she nearly ran off the road near Westel Loop. Howard stopped at a residence on Jenkins Drive where she was ordered out of the vehicle.

When the officer asked her why she did not stop, Howard reportedly replied she had “smoked a little weed and didn’t have a driver’s license.”

Howard was arrested for DUI, evading arrest, simple possession of marijuana and driving without a proper license.
