CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOE REVIEWS SELF-ASSESSMENT AND DOS EVALUATION
Thursday night, the Cumberland County Board of Education reviewed their own self-assessment along with an evaluation of Director of Schools Janet Graham. Board Attorney Earl Patton addressed both assessments. Speaking of the board, Patton commented that there were no wide gaps in the board’s view of their performance and that they were mostly in agreement on how they were doing. Members stated that there were two things that the board, as a whole, needed to address, and that their biggest downfalls were in advocacy and in vision and planning. Looking at the Director’s evaluation, Patton said that Ms. Graham received an excellent evaluation which fell between her meeting and exceeding the board’s expectations. Board Chair Josh Stone said that he would like to see the evaluation get away from looking at expectations and be more performance-driven.
