Monday night, the Cumberland County Commission voted in new officers for the 2016-17 year. The motion was made and approved unanimously to keep County mayor Kenneth Carey Jr. as the Chairman. Sixth District Rep. Wendall Wilson was chosen to serve as Chairman Pro Tem while Second District Rep. Nancy Hyder was selected to be the group’s Parliamentarian. Ms. Hyder was not in attendance due to recovering from recent back surgery. Commissioners also re-approved Randal Boston to serve another two-year term as County Attorney.
