CUMBERLAND COUNTY COMMISSION PASSES 2020-2021 BUDGET

In a special called session last night, the Cumberland County Commission passed the 2020-2021 budget. County Finance Director Nathan Brock told 105.7 News the $110.9 million budget is just slightly higher than last year and has no property tax increases. The local option sales tax will also remain the same. Brock said the “no growth budget” was a challenge to put together after sustaining a financial blow from loss of sales taxes in the COVID-19 pandemic. Two paramedics positions were approved and grant funds from the state will be used to buy five patrol cars for the sheriff’s office as well as a fire truck and three ambulances.
