CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTIES CHARGE NETHERTON WITH FELONY AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A call of shots fired last night at a residence on Jones Road in Cumberland County resulted in an arrest. The owner of the property told deputies 50-year-old Jerry Dewayne Netherton of Crossville was there and set off several fireworks toward the residence. The victim then took a small caliber handgun and fired it into the ground to try to get Netherton to leave. Netherton reportedly grabbed a shotgun in his vehicle and fired one round toward the dwelling then fled the scene. The suspect was later arrested for felony aggravated assault.
