CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTIES TASER SUSPECT DURING WARRANT SERVICE
Cumberland County Deputies had to taser a man in an attempt to serve a warrant last Saturday. Officers arrived at a Dogwood Road home for a warrant service and spoke to a female occupant. They observed a man in the background and when it came around to questioning him, 37-year-old John Adam Cogdill allegedly gave officers a false name. The male subject did not match up with a picture associated with the name given officers. It was then that Cogdill tried to flee and was hit by a deputy’s taser prongs. After being treated for slight injuries, Cogdill was served with an outstanding warrant from Loudon County. He was also charged with criminal impersonation and evading arrest.
