CUMBERLAND COUNTY FATHER NEEDING ASSISTANCE IN BATTLE WITH CANCER

A Cumberland County father has started a battle with cancer and is needing help in obtaining treatment.

Earlier this month, Cody Parsons underwent surgery to remove his left testicle because of pain and enlargement. After it was biopsied, he was notified that it was testicular cancer and was referred to an oncologist in Crossville. The doctor ordered a CT scan, which came back with bad results. Parson’s cancer had moved to lymph nodes in his abdomen and chest. He is now waiting to begin three to four months of chemotherapy. Without health insurance, he is not receiving care as quickly as he otherwise could. His family has already exhausted its savings on paying his medical bills. Parsons has applied for assistance, which is a lengthy process, and State insurance was denied. Parson has a wife and a 3-year-old son. The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help raise money to start the chemotherapy treatments. The GoFundMe account link is: https://www.gofundme.com/loving-father-diagnosed-with-cancer
