CUMBERLAND COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE IN FRIGID TEMPERATURES
Cumberland County Firefighters battled two structure fires in bitter cold temperatures over the weekend. Early Sunday morning, crews were called to a blaze on Peter Pan Avenue. The two-story structure was already engulfed in flames when they arrived. According to officials, the fire started with a heat lamp in a dog house located on a porch. The home, which was occupied at the time, was a total loss. No injuries were reported. An alarm sounded around 6:30 at a house on Lige Rd. The house, which had been abandoned for some time, was nearly burned to the ground when crews arrived. There was no damage estimate for either structure. Picture of Lige Rd. provided by Tina Swenson.
