CUMBERLAND COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE IN FRIGID TEMPERATURES

Cumberland County Firefighters battled two structure fires in bitter cold temperatures over the weekend. Early Sunday morning, crews were called to a blaze on Peter Pan Avenue. The two-story structure was already engulfed in flames when they arrived. According to officials, the fire started with a heat lamp in a dog house located on a porch. The home, which was occupied at the time, was a total loss. No injuries were reported. An alarm sounded around 6:30 at a house on Lige Rd. The house, which had been abandoned for some time, was nearly burned to the ground when crews arrived. There was no damage estimate for either structure.
