CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN FACES JULY COURT DEADLINE ON 16 COUNTS OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR

A Cumberland County man is scheduled to appear in court next week following an indictment charging him with multiple counts of possessing child sexual abuse material.

Douglas Shane Ford is listed on the Cumberland County Circuit Court docket for a “Deadline” hearing on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

According to court records, a Cumberland County Grand Jury returned a true bill against Ford on February 20, 2024, following an investigation involving Detective Tom Howard of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The 16-count indictment, presented by District Attorney General Bryant C. Dunaway’s office, charges Ford with 16 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

The indictment alleges that between November 15, 2023, and January 22, 2024, Ford did:

“…unlawfully and intentionally or knowingly possess material that includes [or depicts] a minor engaged in sexual activity, against the peace and dignity of the State of Tennessee.”

Ford is currently represented by defense attorney Kevin R. Bryant. Court documents indicate that Ford was previously released after securing a $50,000 bond through Huckabee Bonding.

The upcoming July 7 hearing will serve as a procedural deadline milestone as the case moves forward through the criminal court system.
