CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN TAKEN IN “DRIVEWAY” SCAM

Buyers beware! ‘Tis the season to get taken. A Cumberland County man was the victim of a scam artist earlier this week. A man wearing a yellow, reflective jacket approached the resident of a Bonanza Drive home and asked if he could do some work on the driveway. He stated that he talked to the residents’ son earlier about the repairs. The scam artist told the victim that he needed $190 in order to buy tools for the job. He was given the money, left and never returned. The resident asked his son about the matter, and he said that he never talked to anyone about working on the driveway. Never agree to have any type of work done without seeing credentials first. If you’re ever in doubt about hiring a job out, please contact your local law enforcement agency.
