CUMBERLAND COUNTY RESCUE SQUAD AND FIRST RESPONDERS HELP SUBJECT WHO FELL OFF CLIFF IN STATE PARK

The Cumberland County Rescue Squad and first responders went to Cumberland Mountain State Park off South Old Mail Road late last night after a 25-year-old male fell 25 feet just off of a trail.

Personnel with the Crossville Police Department, Cumberland County Fire Department, Crossville Fire Department, Cumberland County Emergency Medical Services and Cumberland Mountain State Park rangers all assisted in the rescue.

Crews made contact shortly after arrival around 10 p.m. central with the patient and extracted him by way of rope systems and a terrain wheel basket.

He was conscious when leaving the scene and was treated for injuries sustained. His identity was not initially released.

The incident area was cleared around 12:30 a.m. this morning.
