CUMBERLAND COUNTY SAYS NO TO POLITICAL SIGNS ON COURTHOUSE LAWN

Those massive clusters of political yard signs covering the Cumberland County Courthouse lawn are a thing of the past. The Cumberland County Building and Grounds Committee has voted unanimously to prohibit election signs on the Courthouse lawn citing complaints from citizens and businesses that it creates parking problems and are generally annoying to people going into the courthouse. Commissioners said they’ve gotten many complaints that the huge number of signs and candidates on the sidewalk has gotten out of hand during the two-week early voting period. Also, parking vehicles with political signs in front of the courthouse will not be allowed either.
