At approximately 3:17 p.m. today (Thursday April 8, 2021) emergency crews were dispatched to the area of Pleasant Hill Elementary for a severe weather event. Upon arrival, it was determined that only minor injuries were sustained and no one was transported for treatment. Pleasant Hill Elementary, Fletcher House, and the Community House did sustain some damage while the area continues to be assessed. All students and faculty are accounted for.

As a result of this event and the continuing assessment of damages, Cumberland County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, April 9, 2021.

Emergency Management Agency requests that everyone avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to continue their work.
