CUMBERLAND COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH METH POSSESSION, DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Friday evening, Cumberland County deputies were called to a home on the 8500 block of Vandever Road for a domestic situation. There they found 40-year-old Kristal Lynn Sherrill, apparently under the influence and creating an environment of fear. She was sweating profusely, could not stand still and could not complete a sentence or say why officers were there. Sherrill admitted to having used meth and had called for an ambulance. Cumberland County EMS arrived while deputies were on scene, but Sherrill refused medical treatment. The man who called 911 told deputies Sherrill had threatened him and his disabled father, and had begun reaching for knives in the kitchen. The father, who owns the home, gave permission for a search; deputies found about seven tenths of a gram of meth and approximately a gram of marijuana. After interviewing the residents, deputies determined Sherrill was the primary aggressor; she was arrested and charged with felony manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth, simple possession of marijuana and domestic assault. Sherrill was placed under $13,200 bond and a court date has been set for February 11.
