CUMBERLAND MEDICAL CENTER ACHIEVES 4-STAR OVERALL QUALITY RATING FROM C.M.S.
In November 2024, Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, Tennessee, achieved a 4-star Overall Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This annual rating is determined by evaluating 46 different quality measures categorized into five key performance areas: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
To calculate the final score, CMS applies a weighted average where the first four categories each account for 22% of the grade, while timely and effective care contributes the remaining 12%. Randy Davis, the hospital’s president and chief administrative officer, praised the achievement as a testament to the staff’s dedication to excellence, emphasizing their community-focused mission of providing high-quality care to friends and family.
