CUMBERLAND SHERIFF’S OFFICE EXPRESSES GRATITUDE FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE
From the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office:
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the officers who went above and beyond to assist a victim during a recent fraud case. Their dedication, professionalism, and compassion truly exemplify the core values of public service and the trust we work hard to uphold in our community.
On March 31, 2025, Crossville Police Department Officer Steven McNeal reached out to Sgt. Dustin Jackson regarding a county resident in need of immediate assistance at the Executive Inn. Upon arrival, Sgt. Jackson was briefed by Officer McNeal and Officer Jessie Henson, who had already begun taking proactive steps to support the victim—a lady with a hearing impairment. Officer McNeal relayed the details of the case, while Officer Henson worked diligently with US Bank to freeze the victim’s account due to fraudulent activity.
The victim had discovered unauthorized transactions and a negative balance in her account, suspecting fraud linked to someone she knew. Thanks to the swift actions of these officers, the victim was transported to US Bank, where she was able to open a new account just in time to receive her SSI check. A thorough review of her account revealed further unauthorized purchases, which will now be investigated by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
We are proud of the professionalism and care demonstrated by Officer Steven McNeal, Officer Jessie Henson, Corporal Brandon Griffin, and Sgt. Dustin Jackson in this case. Their teamwork and commitment to serving the community are truly commendable. This collaboration between the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Crossville Police Department highlights the strong relationships we have in protecting and assisting the people of our community.
Thank you to all involved for your dedication and for making a difference.
