A cyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Roane County last Friday night (November 17, 2017). The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Brent E. Carroll of Harriman was riding a bicycle east on Highway 61 at the intersection of Highway 327 when he was struck from behind by a 2003 Dodge pickup operated by 24-year-old Austin M. Hicks of Harriman. Troopers say Carroll was not wearing any reflective clothing or safety equipment at the time of the accident. No citations or charges were filed by troopers in the incident.
