The following is from today’s Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 report:

14,096 total cases of COVID-19 In Tennessee (158 new cases since yesterday)

237 died (down 2 adjusted from yesterday)

1,266 had to be hospitalized (up 45 since yesterday)

6,783 recovered (plus 219 since yesterday)

236,328 tested (up 9,227 since yesterday)

The following counties in the coverage area report the following as of today, May 7, 2020:

ANDERSON – 6 active remaining cases (up 1 case from yesterday) out of 31 total cases (up 2 cases from yesterday), 1 death, 2,560 negative tests

BLEDSOE – 578 active remaining cases (Nearly all of these cases are at the Bledsoe County Correctional Prison) out of 602 total cases, 3,092 negative tests

CLAY – 1 active remaining case (same as yesterday) out of 6 total case (same as yesterday), 262 negative tests

CUMBERLAND – 31 active remaining cases (down 1 case from yesterday and the one fatality is subtracted from the active count per the state health department) out of 84 total cases (down 1 case from yesterday), 2,091 negative tests, 1 death

FENTRESS – 2 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 5 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 424 negative tests

KNOX – 41 remaining active cases (down 3 cases from yesterday) out of 253 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 5 fatalities, 8,597 negative tests

LOUDON – 9 remaining active cases (down 1 case from yesterday) out of 38 total cases (down 1 case from yesterday), 808 negative tests

MCMINN – 94 remaining active cases (nearly all of these is at Life Care Center in Athens) out of 108 total cases, 4 fatalities (one confirmed but not on state health report yet), 1,755 negative tests

MEIGS – 11 remaining active cases (up 4 cases from yesterday) out of 17 total cases (up 6 cases from yesterday), 213 negative tests

MORGAN –  0 remaining active cases out of 6 total cases, 400 negative tests

OVERTON – 3 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 11 total cases (up 1 case from yesterday), 718 negative tests

PICKETT – 0 cases (has not seen a case since outbreak started), 184 negative tests

PUTNAM – 73 remaining active cases (same as yesterday) out of 162 total cases (same as yesterday), 5 fatalities, 2,381 negative tests

RHEA – 2 remaining active case (same as yesterday) out of 6 total case (same as yesterday), 668 negative tests
