TWO ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS SET FOR I-40 IN CUMBERLAND AND ROANE COUNTY
Motorists using I-40 in Cumberland and Roane County will soon experience delays as two road projects will get underway soon. The first involves milling and paving on the interstate between Peavine Road and Crab Orchard exits in Cumberland County. The bridge at the 327 mile marker TDOT recently repaired will require two weekends of being down to one lane as crews pave it.
The second project involves westbound I-40 on Rockwood Mountain as crews work to repair cracks on the road between the 342 and 345 mile markers.
Both projects are set to begin later this month (May 2020) weather permitting.
