DANIEL TYLER CRAWFORD FACES FELONY CHARGES FOLLOWING HIGH-SPEED CRASH WITH JUVENILE PASSENGERS IN CROSSVILLE
Daniel Tyler Crawford, 31, is scheduled for arraignment in the Cumberland County Circuit Court on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, following a high-speed vehicle pursuit and crash earlier this year.
According to court and incident records, the events unfolded on May 3, 2026, at approximately 12:49 PM. Crawford was reportedly driving a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette northbound on Genesis Road while actively evading the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. While attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve, Crawford lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway, struck an earth embankment, and crashed into a standing tree.
Investigators noted that while Crawford was unbelted and escaped injury, two juvenile passengers—a 6-year-old male and a 4-year-old female—were inside the vehicle at the time. Both children were properly restrained with seat belts but sustained injuries in the impact. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Crawford now faces a total of six charges, including:
-
Felony Reckless Endangerment (Vehicle)
-
Evading Arrest (Risk of Death or Injury, Vehicle Involved)
-
Resisting Stop, Arrest, or Search
-
Reckless Driving
-
Two counts of Aggravated Child Abuse, Neglect, or Endangerment
He is currently being held on a $200,000 surety bond through Huckabee Bonding, with attorney Howard Upchurch representing him in court.
