DAVENPORT GUILTY IN SHOOTING DEATH IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Court officials say a jury in Cumberland County found Tony Charles Davenport guilty today of a shooting incident two years ago that left one dead and two injured.

Davenport was convicted of reckless homicide in the death of 24-year-old Jacob Conrad Lewis at a home on Grouse Court in Fairfield Glade on March 18, 2022.

He was also found guilty of attempted second-degree murder in the shooting of 57-year-old Cory James Hillsman.

The jury returned a guilty verdict against Davenport for attempted voluntary manslaughter in the shooting of 52-year-old Florence Easterly.

After the verdicts were announced, Judge Gary McKenzie scheduled a sentencing hearing for Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
