David Wilson Coates, age 59, of Rockwood, passed away January 1, 2017. He is survived by his wife: Mary Coates of Rockwood; sons: Bradley Coates and Phillip Coates, both of California; daughter: Brenda Poole of Rockwood; grandchildren: Bridgette Devaney of Rockwood, Ashley Chambers of Rockwood, and Bradley Poole of Rockwood; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-laws: Linda Beard of Rockwood, Carolyn Lee of Rockwood, Barbara Rose of Madisonville, and Evelyn Franks of Madisonville. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10, 2017 from 11 a.m. until noon in the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at noon. Graveside and interment will follow at Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood with military honors conducted by the US Navy Honor Guard and Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard.
