Loudon County deputies discovered a female inmate during a security check who reportedly attempted to hang herself in a holding cell. Corrections officers started CPR while an ambulance was called to the jail. She was transported to U.T. Medical Center and had a pulse upon arrival. The inmate was later placed on a ventilator. According to information released today, she passed away Sunday. The TBI was called in to assist the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation. The name of the female was not initially released.
