A delivery man trapped a suspected thief inside his truck’s trailer in Cumberland County earlier this week. According to the report, the truck was parked at the Peavine Road Weigel’s Monday when the delivery man observed a male subject in the trailer area going through boxes of cigarettes. The worker was able to close the trailer’s doors, locking the suspect inside until deputies arrived. The subject, identified as 42-year-old Michael Shane Caffey of Knoxville, could be heard screaming that he was armed. When Caffey was removed from the truck, it was determined that he had no weapons. Caffey did attempt to escape from officers but was recovered quickly. He was charged with burglary and evading arrest. Caffey was also served with an outstanding warrant from Knox County.
