DENIM JACKSON SET TO APPEAR IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY COURT TOMORROW ON DRUG AND HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT CHARGES
Denim M. Jackson is scheduled to appear in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court tomorrow, October 29, 2026, to face multiple felony and traffic charges stemming from a high-speed pursuit in June.
According to court dockets and an affidavit filed by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy Zach Early, the charges stem from an incident on June 27, 2026. Deputy Early observed a black vehicle traveling 88 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 40 near mile marker 307. When the officer attempted a traffic stop with lights and sirens, the driver—identified as Jackson—reportedly fled.
Authorities stated that the vehicle reached speeds topping 146 mph, weaving through traffic and running other motorists off the road. Crossville City Police successfully deployed spike strips near mile marker 317, and the vehicle eventually came to a stop in a ditch at mile marker 320.
A search of the vehicle, which also carried a 17-year-old passenger, reportedly uncovered approximately 10.51 ounces of marijuana inside a backpack.
Jackson, represented by the Public Defender’s office, faces a series of charges including:
-
Manufacture, delivery, sale, or possession of Schedule VI drugs (felony)
-
Evading arrest flight by vehicle (felony)
-
Two counts of reckless endangerment involving a vehicle (felony)
