DEPUTIES: DRIVER FLEES SCENE OF TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENTS IN LOUDON COUTNY
Loudon County deputies responded to a hit and run crash with injuries at the intersection of Martel and Muddy Creek. Deputies learned after they arrived the driver, 35-year-old John D. Jones of Knoxville, fled and continued up Beals Chapel where he left the roadway and struck a power pole causing It to break in half at the intersection of Lakeview Road. Witnesses observed Jones running away from the scene of the second crash on foot and into a nearby wood line. After a lengthy area search, Jones was located and apprehended without incident. He was evaluated by medics and refused treatment. The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to both scenes and are handling the crash investigations.
