Deputies in Cumberland County went to a home Friday on Panther Court for a disturbance.

The arrest report states authorities observed a woman with a blackened and bruised right eye and several scratches and bruises on her face and neck.

She told deputies that 40-year-old Ashton Elijah Dukes of Crossville threw her to the ground after she asked him to leave. Dukes reportedly strangled her until she lost consciousness.

When the victim regained consciousness, Dukes allegedly was standing over her.

She noticed piles of her hair ripped out of her head in different locations in the living room.

Dukes fled the residence before law enforcement arrived.

The report states medics treated the victim at the scene.

Dukes was arrested later the same day for aggravated assault.
