The Crossville Police Department released a report today of a vehicle striking a juvenile on a bicycle.

The accident happened Monday afternoon at the intersection of 4th Street and Miller Bypass.

The report states a 2022 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 41-year-old Terry Joe Hawn was waiting at the traffic light for traffic to clear so he could turn. Hawn told police he proceeded to turn once it was clear.

Once he turned, Hawn heard a noise and looked in his mirror to see a bike.

Hawn pulled to the shoulder of the road and noticed a 13-year-old male pulling his damaged bicycle from the road.

Police say the juvenile was traveling down the sidewalk on the bicycle and entered the crosswalk when he was hit.

The juvenile was transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
