DETAILS RELEASED OF VEHICLE ACCIDENT KNOCKING OUT POWER TO 2,100 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a report today of a vehicle accident in Cumberland County, resulting in numerous VEC customers being without power.
Troopers say a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup driven by 18-year-old Allison M. Amonette was east near the 6,000 block of Lantana Road around 10 p.m. Thursday when she failed to negotiate a curve.
The truck left the road, struck a wooden fence, then collided with a utility pole.
The impact broke the pole and sent power lines crashing to the ground.
Volunteer Electric reported nearly 2,100 customers lost power for several hours.
The report states Amonette was issued citations by the highway patrol for failure to maintain a lane of travel and no proof of insurance.
No injuries took place in the accident.
