DIAMOND JEWELRY STOLEN FROM CROSSVILLE HOME

Cumberland County Investigators are working on a burglary that was reported this week at a Highway 70 East home. Officers arrived with a K-9 Officer after a burglary alarm fired at the location on Monday. They discovered an exterior garage door had been forced open and an interior door leading into the home was found standing open. The house was cleared and the resident later told deputies that someone had stolen several pieces of diamond jewelry kept in a box in a bedroom. The jewels were valued at approximately $8000. The victim stated that two nights before, she had heard a knock on the door. As she answered the door, no one was there and she noted a grey pickup truck driving off from the home.
