Roane County deputies went to an apartment on Roane State Highway yesterday to serve a temporary order of protection to 33-year-old Jonathan Dodson. The officer asked Dodson if there were any firearms in the residence. Dodson allegedly replied there was a shotgun in a closet. The deputy retrieved the 12 gauge and noticed two things. The manufacturer’s serial number was reportedly scratched off and the barrel was cut to measure about 14 1/2 inches in length. Dodson was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
