DOG CREDITED FOR SAVING MAN’S LIFE IN HO– USE FIRE
Cumberland County fire officials say a dog is credited for saving a man’s life in a house fire early this morning (Sunday, December 31, 2017). Five fire units from Cumberland County and two from Grandview responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m. at 111 Old Highway 68 to find a brick home close to being fully involved. Fire officials say the blaze started in a middle bedroom and a dog in the home alerted a man who was asleep of the danger. Officials say the man was the sole occupant of the residence and barely made it out of the home with the dog. A cause of the fire is undetermined and the home was a total loss. Firefighters battled the blaze for just over three hours in below freezing temperatures.
