DONEAL CLARK CHARGED WITH MURDER IN SHOOTING DEATH AT TANSI HOME

Based on newly developed information, Cumberland County deputies have now charged Doneal Marie Clark with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 74-year-old Linda Damewood at her Lake Tansi home. Clark is being held in the Cumberland County jail on two million dollars bond.

Her husband, Kirk Douglas Clark, an acquaintance of the deceased, was arrested January 22nd and charged with multiple charges, including first-degree murder in connection with Damewood’s death.

Doneal Clark was arrested on weapons charges at the time of her husband’s arrest.

The sheriff’s office, Tansi Security and Tennessee Highway Patrol units all responded to a reported shooting at 8610 Cherokee Trail in Tansi shortly after 6:30 Saturday evening, January 19. They found three people shot, one of them fatally. Damewood was shot once in the head as she sat in her recliner; her siblings, 63-year-old Andrew Schan and 73-year-old Ellen Cairns, were wounded.

TBI agents immediately joined the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, THP and the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in the investigation.

The investigation is still active and ongoing, and additional charges will be forthcoming through the Cumberland County Grand Jury regarding the shootings of Schan and Cairns, and other offenses.
