DOUBLE MURDER CASE HEARD IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT
The case against a Cumberland County double murder suspect was heard in criminal court today. Court documents state 46-year-old John Patrick Fields of Pikeville additionally faces charges of aggravated assault and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. The deadly encounter took place in March of 2019 where Fields allegedly killed Makayla Laray Manning and 47-year-old Lowell “Chip” Thomas Simmons, II and caused serious injuries to two others. In court today, the case against Fields was continued to June 10, 2020 when it will be heard in court again.
